This side of the closet has heavy duty built in shelves, and I have gone through them recently. In that adventure I found numerous empty boxes taking up space, so when I look in here now I do see space and storage potential. Sadly, it is still only potential.
This side of the closet has no shelves that you can see. Just behind the wall is a rail to hang clothes, but no shelf above it. I put the old dresser in there to hopefully create some storage and organized space for our home improvement supplies. But honestly, I think it is taking up more space than the supplies that it holds. Plus a lot of the drawers are broken, so you can pull them out but you then have to hold them up. Its a terrible system, if it even qualifies as a system.
I chose not to show you the rest of the room, so if you'd like to see it, then you will have to come over. If you wait to long to come over, then you may never get to see it in its "before" state. In an ideal, pinteresty world, I would love to have EVERYTHING stored in that closest and have the rest of the room open for nicely decorated nooks and crannies. In reality, I would be happy with easily accessed closet storage and neat tidy bookshelves. We will just have to wait to see what happens.
Finally, a gratuitous picture of my "tea pot" as I call it. I brought it inside this winter because I love these herbs for tea and didn't want them to die (I was a little late, but didn't even up losing a single plant). I trimmed back the pineapple sage this morning, but left the lavender and yerba buena in their wintery state because they are both looking really good. I think this pot is especially interesting because each herb has its own distinctive shade of green.
Okay, now that I shared that little gem with you, I feel better about myself. I may not be able to organize my second bedroom, but at least I can grown some really attractive herbs!
