Vacation Daze

For the last week and a half my husband has taken off work. We spent our time partly working around the house and partly exploring the beautiful area that we live. It is still amazing new to us. We explored Cannon Beach (again), explored some of Central Oregon (though we failed to summit South Sister), and ascended Dog Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge. I've chosen to share the pictures from this wonderful hike.

Successes

This weekend was full of successes. In fact, with the husband on his vacation, this may be a 14-day weekend full of successes. The first little success was figuring out how to post pictures into my blog directly from my phone.

Over a Year...

Yes, I am really succeeding at keeping up with this blog. Though, I was suddenly surprised of a friend of mine, Ferial, who I believe had three blog attempts until it finally stuck. Perhaps I just need one more re-start before I am dazzling cyberspace with my adventuring.

Early Resolutions

I have obviously been slacking on the blog updates. In my defense, I finally landed a job here in Portland. I work at a privately owned swimming school, so between May and August I was fairly busy. Especially considering that I was working hard at the swim school and continuing my knitwear designing.

Work Knitting?

So in the last few months, I've been working hard to design, write and knit the samples of my original patterns. It has been quite a journey and I have landed in a space between full on indy designer and remaining a casual/personal knitting. My rule of thumb is that I don't submit a pattern unless I'm in love with it and want one for myself. This way I am less likely to burn out while knitting the samples.
This rule did not apply for the first two patterns. And you will probably recognize them...
