Here is what I spent the time since I saw you last working on...
The Dreaming of Sunshine Bag came about by the long spring we had here in the Pacific Northwest. I needed some bright cheery colors. This purse features a cross body strap, combination of slip stitch based and dropped stitch cabling, and a slouchy fold over top edge to keep your belongings stylishly secure. It was perfect for our trip to the state fair this summer (unfortunately we did not bring our camera long on that lovely summer day).
For Valentine's Day, my dear husband surprised me with a Kobo E-Reader! This little guy is great, because it have a nice quilted back, easy buttons, and comes pre-loaded with 100 classic books! Instant reading without having to deal with any downloading or purchasing to enjoy this little beauty. I knew that this would be excellent for trips, but I love being able to keep all my needed accessories together. So I decided to make a felted portfolio for my new book love. Because I wanted a custom fit, I took excellent notes of what I did to create my e-reader cover and ended up with a completely customizable pattern. If you wanted to, I'm sure you could even create one of these from the pattern for an iPad (which has very different dimensions.
My Beach to Club Cover-up definitely missed beach season! This pattern is fabulous, now that it is finished. In fact, if I had been making it simply for the joy of making a sweater it would be fabulous without any qualifiers. Instead, I had to not only create this sweater, but I also needed to translate what I had done into words that someone else could understand. This resulted in a lot of ripping out and re-knitting. Which is just fine. In the end, its a great sweater, a fun pattern, and a lovely learning adventure. It did, however, take up most of my summer and left me occasionally feeling very confused and lost.
So back to the title of this blog post, I have obviously left this blog to whither away. I know that I have had some very excellent knitting adventures over the last 6 months that I have been holding out on everyone. So my resolution is to blog AT LEAST every week. Hopefully this means that I will blog more often as the muse takes me, but first we need to help me establish a habit.
There are some projects on the needles that I plan to blog about, along with more patterns going live later this week and the holidays fast approaching (this last one might de-rail my goal after all). Regardless, I must now sign off and head to the pool for the day.
