Organizing Ideas

I love the Internet. It can be kind of a problem, because instead of doing I end up dreaming. Before Pinterest, I was fairly able to contain my obsessive nature. Prior to Pinterest, my main source of organizing daydreams was a Ravelry group that mainly talked about knitting with the yarn you have on hand and ways to storage and organize that yarn until it made it into the clothes or accessories rotation. Here's a few of my favorite pinned ideas (which are not organized into clear categories, furthering the time wasting. But if I were to go through and organize how much more time would be used?)

I love the idea of combining storage and cozy spaces.

I have recently thrown out old gross cookie sheets, so I obviously need to start checking Pinterest before doing things like that, because I've pinned this project at least twice.

I have started to put more than one herb into a large pot, but I would love to get a few really nice layered pots started like this. Currently, I have a basil and tea pot indoors for the winter, but both are single layers. Perhaps I will repot them this spring.

And I will close with a few gratuitous shots of dream spaces. I'm sure these were created by graphic designers somewhere, but they are so pretty and neat and organized that I can't help but stare at them and dream. Though if I had that few books on my bookshelf I might cry a little...

I think it is important to gather inspiring images, whether they are realistic or not. It helps me to define my vision, be that in my home or in my design work. Very few of the items I have pinned to my Pinterest boards have come into my home exactly as I found them on the Internet, but those that have been applied here have created space, function, and all-around cuteness (that was probably the worst series of three things I have ever listed, and for that I'm sorry).

Where do you find inspiration for your work or home?
