This was the first baby sized hank of yarn that I ever created. This historic photograph was quickly texted around to friends and family for bragging purposes.
This is the spindle I came home with. I have since added about an ounce of spun fiber to it. I am not trying to brag, but I am amazed at how thin and consistent my spinning has become in a week (and this was a week of not spinning...)
In that week of not spinning, I have been knitting quite a bit. I dove in and made a couple of washcloths out of left over KnitPicks cotlin yarn. I can't say I was impressed with it in the typical shower washcloth application, but man its amazing for face washing! Just the right balance of softness from the fiber and abrasion from the textured stitches. I may soon convert to a new type of face-wash to accommodate the new washcloths (handknit washcloth doesn't play well with St. Ives Apricot Scrub).
